10 Animated Music Videos Part VI

My Animated Music Videos YouTube playlist is up to 78 videos and counting...

1. Jay-Z - "The Story Of OJ" 2017  I can't mention this Jay-Z album without mentioning that Grape God did it first. That said, this song/video is awesome.

2. Sevdaliza - "That Other Girl" 2015  Sevdaliza stays weird in the very best way.

3. Chelou - "Halfway To Nowhere" 2016  Still can't decide if I love this song but since I've watched the video at least five times, it must be aight.

4. theMIND Feat. Mick Jenkins, Noname, Jesse Boykins III - "Animated Ambition" 2016  Noname for the win...

5. Mndsgn - "Alluptoyou" 2016  It's nearly impossible to be smoother than this.

6. King Reign - "Santa Romeo" 2017  This video was released posthumously by those who wanted to see this track get the love it deserves.

7. Jonwayne - "LIVE From The Fuck You" 2017  STONES THROW  Leave him alone, he's with his boys!

8. Dabbla feat. Graziella - "Psychoville" 2016  UK HIP HOP  "Thanks for being here. Theres lots of cool shit to see and free music to download and share so enjoy yourself, have a gander, buy some shit and help me continue to make music until it transmorph's into an actual job enabling me to escape the social grid and become a revolutionary pillar of the global community."
- Excerpt from Dabbla's Soundcloud bio

9. Gorillaz - "Sleeping Powder" 2017  The Gorillaz team is trying harder than most musicians out there and it's totally working.

Here's the Gorillaz episode of MTV Cribs for good measure.

10. Nick Hakim - "Roller Skates" 2017  This has also been added to the Roller Skating Music Videos YouTube playlist for obvious reasons.

Seven Music Videos featuring Liquor

1. Mayer Hawthorne - "Green Eyed Love" 2011  *This is one of my favorite Mayer Hawthorne songs. I wonder if he is actually as smooth as he seems.

2. Thaddeus David - "Crown Royal" 2011  (SEATTLE)  *This may be an accurate representation of what rapper parties are like; more smoky than blingy.

3. Ghostpoet - "Cash And Carry Me Home" 2010 (UK HIP HOP) *It's no "Meltdown" but it's still pretty great.

4. Jay-Z feat. Pharrell - "Excuse Me Miss" 2003  *This song is still great ten years later.

5. Dirty Dike - "Consequences" 2013 (UK HIP HOP) *This was the first time I ever saw Dirty Dike get serious.

6. Tone-Loc - "Funky Cold Medina" 1989  *These drinks have dry ice in them. Ballin'!

7. Grieves and Budo - "Pack It Up" 2011 (SEATTLE)  *This is another great music video by Griff J. The song is pretty good too.

Nine Music Videos featuring Elevators

1. Mary J. Blige - "Real Love" 1992  *Even when she is wearing a bustier, she still manages to keep it sporty.

2. Luscious Jackson - "Naked Eye" 1996  * This is from the Fever In Fever Out album. The video has Max Perlich (actor) in it who was also in Young MC's "Bust A Move", 80s movie Can't Buy Me Love, Buffy, and Alice In Chains' "No Excuses" (in case you were wondering).

3. MC Lyte feat. Missy Elliott - "Cold Rock A Party (Bad Boy Remix)" 1996  * "I rock the leather trench coat that rocks the party" -not an MC Lyte quote

4. Jay-Z - "Girls, Girls, Girls" 2001  *Jay-Z shares his girls exclusively with Biz Markie.

5. Usher feat. Nicki Minaj - "Lil Freak" 2010  *This elevator is a babe trap.

6. Mono - "Life In Mono" 1996  *Even if the song is pretty good, the video gets ridiculous quickly when you notice the singer is just writhing around the whole time.

7. Color Me Badd - "I Wanna Sex You Up" 1991  *Looking back, it is definitely weird for a 13 year old to be singing along to this song.

8. Drake - "Headlines" 2011  *Drake only wears glasses when he is riding in an elevator (false fact).

9. The Whispers - "Rock Steady" 1987 *It's the old hotness.

Ten Music Videos featuring Convertibles

1. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg - "Still D.R.E." 1999  *Who's going to tell all these people to put their seatbelts on? Not it.

2. The Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes - "Don't Cha" 2005  *It is kind of embarrassing that I like this song, but, it is the only Pussycat Dolls song I like.

3. DeBarge - "Rhythm Of The Night" 1985  *Group dance routines in a parking lot are so eighties.

4. New Kids On The Block - You Got It (The Right Stuff) 1988  *In 1988, I thought this was cool. Now it is absolutely ridiculous.

5. The Go-Go's - "Our Lips Are Sealed" 1981  *This is some seriously iconic illegal convertible action.

6. 2Pac - "To Live And Die In L.A." 1996  *2Pac can also be seen riding illegally in a convertible with Patra in her video for "Romantic Call" which also features Yo-Yo.

7. Lucy Pearl - "Dance Tonight" 2000  *I love them as a trio (Dawn from En Vogue, Raphael Saadiq, and Ali Shaheed Muhammed from A Tribe Called Quest).

8. Mya feat. Jay-Z - "Best Of Me (DJ Clue Remix)" 2000  *It is so weird seeing him with another lady, Beyoncé is so much better.

9. Kris Kross - "Warm It Up" 1992  *This is illegal convertible action because they weren't old enough to drive when this video came out. I wonder how many nineties kids shaved their eyebrows because Kris Kross did. I was sure that this was cool in 1992. R.I.P.

10. Dr. Dre - "Let Me Ride" 1992  *They aren't wearing their seatbelts! Dr. Dre is watching the $20 Sack Pyramid while being an asshole to one of his ladies.

*SEATBELTS ARE COOL THOUGH.

Ten Music Videos featuring Water

1. The Human League - "Human" 1986  *Slow motion splashes are rad.

2. James Blake - "Limit To Your Love" 2010  *When played on the right stereo, the bass in this song would definitely make water react in this manner. I get to see James Blake for the first time on April 23 at the Neptune Theater, it will be amazing.

3. Justin Timberlake feat. Jay-Z - "Suit and Tie" 2013  *I don't love this song but I do like Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. The big water scene is towards the end. Sometimes I don't like songs that millions of other people like because of my not-so-secret desire to like different stuff than the masses.

4. Adele - "Rolling In The Deep" 2010  *The mainstream got this one right. I feel like the water in this video is one of its best attributes.

5. Ralph Tresvant - "Sensitivity" 1990  *There was a lot of filming people who were standing behind falling streams of water in the late eighties and early nineties.

6. Bell Biv DeVoe - "Do Me (Remix)" 1990  *I definitely prefer the album version, but a classic nonetheless.

7. De La Soul feat. Chaka Khan - "All Good?" 2000  *A car wash video like this one would be lacking without water. Chaka Khan still pairs so nicely with Hip Hop.

8. Porno For Pyros - "Tahitian Moon" 1996  *I liked two Porno For Pyros songs, this one and "Pets".

9. RZA aka Bobby Digital - "La Rhumba" 2001 *I think this crazy rap party is supposed to be going on inside the red bottle. I don't believe that for a second.

10. Sade - "Sweetest Taboo" 1985  *At the beginning of this video, it looks like Sade gets pissed when she sees this guy litter. Sade says, "littering is not sexy" with her eyes.

Ten Music Videos featuring New York Yankees Hats

1. Black Rob - "Whoa" 2000  *I love that he told us how to use his new it word "whoa".

2. A$AP Rocky - "Purple Swag" 2011  *This blonde girl is kind of scary.

3. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys - "Empire State of Mind" 2009  *Naturally, there would have to be a Jay-Z song on this list.

4. 112 featuring Biggie and Mase - "Only You (Bad Boy Remix)" 1996  *Totally 90's.

5. The Physics - "The Goodbye" (Song 2012, Video 2013)  *This is a bad breakup.

6. MAB - "The Dark Side Of My Mind's Eye" 2013  *The novelty of the British rapper combined with this familiar beat made me watch it twice.

7. SWV - "Weak" 1993  *Yankees hat on the ironing board.

8. Brand Nubian - "Slow Down" 1990  *Hat is sitting on top of a tv.

9. KRS-One - "The Bridge Is Over" 1987  *Guy in the crowd holds up his Yankees hat.

10. Kooley High - "All Day" 2011  *Upon further reflection, I have decided that these guys are not that cool. I also realized that the dude on the left is not Kid Cudi.

Ten Music Videos featuring Fur

1. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - "Thrift Shop" 2012  *Congratulations to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis! You have already been able to help change the world for the better with your music. Seattle is very proud.

2. White Town - "Your Woman" 1997  *This is a near perfect late nineties song, I'm still not really sure what the song is about though.

3. Estelle feat. Kanye West - "American Boy" 2008  *This song is so great, Estelle overshadows Kanye, but they have good chemistry. The shots with Estelle's long shadow are awesome.

4. Jay-Z feat. Chrisette Michelle - "Lost One" 2006  *The lady's fur coat is the best in the ten. This is one of my favorite Jay-Z songs. Chrisette Michelle's incredible voice and female presence make the song.

5. The Human League - "Don't You Want Me" 1981  *She may have worked as a waitress in a cocktail bar, but now she works in film.

6. Moby feat. Gwen Stefani - "Southside" 1999  *This video also has flowers, chains, wind, unsafe convertible passengers, shiny things, shirtless males, singing into the camera shots, water, fire, and food. Whoa.

7. Mayer Hawthorne - "Henny and Ginger Ale" 2012  *This is one of the best commercials I have ever seen.

8. Digital Underground - "The Humpty Dance" 1990  *At least they edited it with interesting sounds.

9. Neneh Cherry and The Thing - "Accordian" (Madvillain Cover) 2012  *I feel like I should like this because it is an MF Doom/Madvillain cover. It makes me feel like I am not hip enough to understand its greatness, but, I think it sucks. It is still My Definition Of Cool because it was filmed in complete darkness with night vision and because it is Madvillain related. Sorry Neneh :(

10. John Lennon - "Jealous Guy" 1971  *I love that they went on a boat ride wearing really great outfits.

***Conclusion: videos featuring fur are some of the best videos.
