The iPhoneSE Adventures of @206Liz [Chapter 1]

A little over two years ago, I quit my unfulfilling safe job with benefits to see if I could carve out a niche for myself in the music industry. I was able to use this website as a resume to get my foot in the door and have been working (and learning) at music venues almost every single day since then.

In an attempt to "be the change" I hope to see in the world, I decided to share some of the experiences that made me the happiest and learn iMovie at the same time. In the spirit of Chase Jarvis who said, "The Best Camera Is The One That's With You," I've decided to use the tools I already have to their fullest potential. This is gonna be fun.

Ten Great Songs

1. Quadron - "Favorite Star" 2013  *It's a ***** happy song.

2. General Elektriks - "Frost On Your Sunglasses" 2005  *This is off the Cliquety Kliqk album, I also love "Tu M'intriques."

3. Declaime feat. Georgia Anne Muldrow - "Mages Sages II" (Produced by Flying Lotus) 2010  *Next level jam.

4. James Blake feat. RZA - "Take A Fall For Me" 2013  *Not surprising that a James Blake and RZA would make a song this amazing.

5. Portugal. The Man feat. Danny Brown - "Evil Friends (Jake One Remix)" 2013  *This is the first song I contributed to Reign City, and it's awesome.

6. King Krule - "Foreign 2" 2013  *King Krule will be playing at Barboza on December 14. I'm so there.

7. Glass Candy - "Candy Castle" 2007  *I would love to see a Glass Candy and Chromatics show someday.

8. Barry Adamson - "Something Wicked This Way Comes" 1997  *I originally found this song on the Lost Highway Soundtrack, which had some serious gems.

9. Deltron 3030 - "3030" 2000   *Deltron 3030 is coming to The Crocodile on November 17. They have a new album called Deltron 3030: Event II. Dan The Automator's discography is truly amazing.

10. The XX - "Angels" (Budo Remix) 2013  *"Angels" seems like it was made to be remixed. Budo's incredible new album is best described in this guy's Tumblr page review.

Ten Music Videos featuring Personal Grooming

1. Lighter Shade of Brown - "Hey DJ" 1994  *We get to see one of the Lighter Shade Of Brown guys shaving and getting ready to go walk around rapping with the other LSOB guy.

2. Quasimoto - "Shroomusic" 2005  *This is one of my favorite Quasimoto songs. "Trying to find a better way to cook Top Ramen, but there ain't one." -Lord Quas

3. J.Rocc - "Play This Also" 2011  *This song sounds like one long intro.

4. Jane's Addiction - "Been Caught Stealing" 1990  *This was the one Jane's Addiction video I remember seeing on MTV.

5. RZA - "Grits" 2003  *This was the song I overplayed off of RZA's The Birth Of A Prince album.

6. Joyo Velarde - "Take You Home" 2009  *The first lady of Quannum can bring so much to the songs she sings in. I feel like this song is almost where it could have been. She is rad.

*This is my favorite Joyo Velarde song. Lyrics Born feat. Joyo Velarde - "Love Me So Bad" 2003

7. Shannon - "Let The Music Play" 1983  *This song is a timeless classic, even though it sounds pretty eighties.

8. Illa J - "We Here" 2008  *Posthumously released J Dilla beats. This song is pretty good but it didn't make it on my Spotify list (combination truth and metaphor).

9. Grizzly Bear - "Gun Shy" 2013  *This video is pretty weird and great.

10. Sweet Tee - "On The Smooth Tip" 1988  *This video serves as a day in the life of an eighties rap lady.

Ten Music Videos featuring Water

1. The Human League - "Human" 1986  *Slow motion splashes are rad.

2. James Blake - "Limit To Your Love" 2010  *When played on the right stereo, the bass in this song would definitely make water react in this manner. I get to see James Blake for the first time on April 23 at the Neptune Theater, it will be amazing.

3. Justin Timberlake feat. Jay-Z - "Suit and Tie" 2013  *I don't love this song but I do like Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. The big water scene is towards the end. Sometimes I don't like songs that millions of other people like because of my not-so-secret desire to like different stuff than the masses.

4. Adele - "Rolling In The Deep" 2010  *The mainstream got this one right. I feel like the water in this video is one of its best attributes.

5. Ralph Tresvant - "Sensitivity" 1990  *There was a lot of filming people who were standing behind falling streams of water in the late eighties and early nineties.

6. Bell Biv DeVoe - "Do Me (Remix)" 1990  *I definitely prefer the album version, but a classic nonetheless.

7. De La Soul feat. Chaka Khan - "All Good?" 2000  *A car wash video like this one would be lacking without water. Chaka Khan still pairs so nicely with Hip Hop.

8. Porno For Pyros - "Tahitian Moon" 1996  *I liked two Porno For Pyros songs, this one and "Pets".

9. RZA aka Bobby Digital - "La Rhumba" 2001 *I think this crazy rap party is supposed to be going on inside the red bottle. I don't believe that for a second.

10. Sade - "Sweetest Taboo" 1985  *At the beginning of this video, it looks like Sade gets pissed when she sees this guy litter. Sade says, "littering is not sexy" with her eyes.
