Macklemore

Macklemore is a Seattle artist who truly seems to care about the messages he is sending. He knows how to entertain his audience and keeps things interesting. These are some of his solo projects:

He recently put out a collaboration album with Ryan Lewis (cool) called VS.

I went to the album release show at Nectar Lounge. They killed it. Here are some videos of him kicking ass.

The Town video just came out today. This guy is killin it, good job Macklemore.

Dan the Automator

Among many other things, these are some of my favorite Automator projects.

These are some cool Automator videos.

Never underestimate the power of the instrumental. These are awesome!

DJ Krush

He is one of my favorite djs ever. These are some of my favorite DJ Krush albums.

These are some cool songs and videos.

Here is a mini biography I found while investigating his upcoming concert in Seattle:

 Biography
Ishi was born in 1962 in Tokyo. Ishi dropped out of school at an early age and joined a local gang, and a few years later, the yakuza. Early into his career as a yakuza underling, Ishi discovered a severed finger wrapped in paper on his desk. Later, after discovering that it had belonged to his best friend, he decided to leave the yakuza and cut ties with the criminal underworld. One day in the early 1980s, Ishi went to the movies with his girlfriend and saw the film Wild Style, the first hip hop motion picture directed by Charlie Ahearn. He quickly got the inspiration to become a hip hop musician, and made the firm decision to become a DJ. The day after seeing this movie, he headed to instrument shops looking for equipment. At this time the term "mixer" was unknown to most of Tokyo's electronic store salesmen. After having a hard time buying the things he needed, Ishi started his career as one of the first hip hop artists in Japan.Aside from being considered one of the pioneers of Japanese hip hop[1], Ishi has established himself as one of the most respected artists and producers in the hip hop industry, both in Japan and abroad. He is reluctant to identify his music with any particular genre, for it would place limits on his listeners and on his talents. He has been regarded as ambient, trip hop, some combination of the two, and hip hop. DJ Krush prefers to exercise an ideological distance from the genres he is usually grouped into, while maintaining a healthy appreciation for all music forms and styles.

Prince Paul

Prince Paul is cool. He makes concept albums among other things. I really loved his A Prince Among ThievesThis is a video of all of the songs edited together to shorten the story. Cool!

I am a huge fan of his Handsome Boy Modeling School projects, a collaboration with Dan the Automator and many others.

They do songs with all sorts of cool people like DJ Shadow
Miho HatoriMike D
De La Soul
Kid KoalaCat PowerDel the Funky HomosapienAll of those people are cool. One of my favorite videos of Prince Paul is an interview by Larry Mizell Jr. on his short lived Thursday Plantation series. The interview starts at about 5:40.

On the Black Cab sessions video for Champagne Champagne, it says that they are part of the Prince Paul generation. Cool, Prince Paul has his own generation.

Damon Albarn

Damon Albarn started out in the group Blur.

I didn't like all of their music but I do like this one.

He also pursued a solo career and put out a great album called Mali Music.

I really like the track called Spoons. He did collaborations with a few other artists including Lovage for their Music To Make Love To Your Old Lady By(cool album) and a few others and also formed the group Gorillaz.
They have lots of cool songs and videos but this is my favorite.

Another favorite Damon Albarn project is The Good, The Bad and the Queen.

This album is great. Here is a cool song of theirs.
