Five Great Songs I Am Currently Overplaying
1. Ghostpoet - "Meltdown" 2013 (UK HIP HOP) *This song is amazing, I think this is the highest quality of UK Hip Hop that I have found so far. Thank you again to the Pigeons and Planes website. This song also appears on the Ten Music Videos featuring Texts or Phone Calls. You can listen to music from his new album Some Say I So I Say Light on his website (www.ghostpoet.co.uk/) or at the Guardian website (here).
2. alt-J (∆) - "Something Good" 2012 *I think this song is a masterpiece. "Something Good" also appears on Eight Music Videos featuring Confetti. It sounds especially good when driving with the windows down on a sunny day, or with headphones on, or wherever you are.
3. Radiohead - "Talk Show Host" 1996 *I just found this song again after rewatching the Romeo and Juliet movie. Someone pointed out to me recently that the story of Romeo and Juliet is a story about teenagers who kill themselves because they can't be together. We read this in junior high, that is messed up, but, the song is great. "Talk Show Host" was also on The Bends.
4. Tokimonsta feat. Gavin Turek - "Darkest Dim" 2012 *Tokimonsta is on Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder Crew. She is ridiculously cool.
"Weirder is better" -Tokimonsta
5. James Blake - "Life Around Here" 2013 *There is an incredibly well written review of this album on Potholes In My Blog.
These are pictures of James Blake I took at the Neptune Theater in Seattle on April 23, 2013.

Ten Music Videos featuring Backwards Scenes
1. Frank Ocean - "Swim Good" 2011 *I didn't pay attention to Frank Ocean for a long time because so many people with poor taste liked him. Once I finally listened, I realized he was a genius.
2. Lucy Pearl - "Don't Mess With My Man" 2000 *A supergroup that didn't draw much attention with Raphael Saadiq, Dawn from En Vogue, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad from A Tribe Called Quest. I freaking love this song.
3. XXYYXX - "About You" 2012 *This video would have fit well in the mask category, not to mention the slow motion category that is coming out soon. I've never felt like I wanted to listen to the song without watching this awesome video at the same time (code for song is aight, video is rad).
4. alt-J (∆) - "Breezeblocks" 2012 *Epic backwards scene video.
5. Pale - "Too Much" 2012 *Awesome backwards scenes with a less than awesome song.
6. The Pharcyde - "Drop" 1996 *The go-to backwards scene video directed by Spike Jonze.
7. Enigma - "Return To Innocence" 1994 *Yes, I do think this song is cool. If I was on a solo road trip, I would totally sing this song really loud, but not the weird scat-like part.
8. King Midas Sound - "Cool Out" 2010 *I watched this because Thom Yorke said he liked them. It's pretty good and I like putting songs with "cool" in the title on here, because it's punny.
9. UNKLE feat. Ian Brown - "Reign" 2003 *For me, UNKLE was never as great as the 1998 Psyence Fiction album. This is from the not even close to as great 2003 Never, Never Land. It's just okay, which means it doesn't suck.
10. Canary Sing - "Freak Show" 2012 *These ladies are oozing with potential, it is kind of ridiculous that it only has 325 views.

Eight Music Videos featuring Confetti
1. Rhye - "Open" 2013 *She's pretty great, I've wanted to share this video for weeks but I couldn't find more confetti videos. I found this via @DJHyphen, thanks.
2. Ethel Cee and Dumhi - "Coke And Yoga" 2012 *Seems like a weird combo, but I love this beat. I couldn't figure out if she was serious until I read this on her video info: (an excerpt)
"I remember hearing descriptions of some of L.A.'s residents. You could meet someone with fake tits, fake lips and a fake ass but they are vegan or on some kind of macrobiotic diet. I found this to be equal parts hilarious and intriguing. So when I say 'Hey L.A.' in the hook, I am basically saying hello to the only group of people I thought could understand how two things so diametrically opposed could exist in the same life.
I felt like L.A was where I probably belonged. They would get it. They wouldn't judge. It described me perfectly. I mean, what kind of person does coke and then gets up and goes to yoga class the next day? Who DOES that shit? Hot mess.
Both cocaine and yoga came into my life about the same time. I still do yoga. The coke had to go. I liked it way too much and I didn't want to go down the road of addiction. I've seen firsthand what that looks like and It. Is. Ugly. So I stopped cold turkey while I was still in control. Yay, me."
-Ethel Cee
3. Gossip - "Heavy Cross" 2009 *It is so great that someone from my high school got to make music with Rick Rubin.
4. EMF - "Unbelievable" 1991 *For me this video is all about the Vision Street Wear shirt.
5. Drake - "Started From The Bottom" 2013 *I don't love this song at all but Drake is so damn likable, maybe it's the drugstore uniform.
6. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Zero" 2009 *She is fierce, she isn't even from Seattle and she walks in the rain without a hood or an umbrella.
7. Allen Stone - "Celebrate Tonight" 2013 *I'm not really into this song but I figure that many others may like it.
8. Alt-J (∆) - "Something Good" 2012 *This video is low-key gruesome because it is happening in slow motion. I didn't even notice the confetti the first time I watched it; I was too absorbed with the whole rose falling and turning into liquid when it hits the ground thing.

Four New Favorite Songs
1. Dark Time Sunshine feat. Aesop Rock and Swamburger - "Take My Hand" 2013 *My love for this song and video became so urgent I had to share. There is so much talent on this couch. This is one of my favorite Aesop Rock verses. It is from the ANX album which was released in 2012.
2. alt-J (∆) - "Tessellate" 2012
* This video was made to resemble Raphael's "The School Of Athens" circa 1509-1510. Cool.
2. alt-J (∆) - "Tessellate" 2012
* This video was made to resemble Raphael's "The School Of Athens" circa 1509-1510. Cool.
3. Bobby Womack (Produced by Damon Albarn) - "The Bravest Man In The Universe" 2012 *There is no official video for this song but the live version will show up in a few weeks in a compilation of great live performances.
4. Flume feat. Chet Faker - "Left Alone" 2013 *Dang, beat nasty face.
*Most of these were found on the Pigeons and Planes website.
